My husband and I were doing some gardening today and we came across a small outbreak of Magic Mushrooms growing in our yard. (Husband knows how to identify them).
We have young children and pets in our yard and i really want to prevent them growing back – ever.
What can we do?
(Please no comments about the effects of the drug and how good you personally may find them – this is for the safety of children)

Ive researched a Fair bit into growing with spores and what not, but i want to know if its possible to just grow some from some.
Let’s say i got a few of them, got the heads and placed them in a jar on top of dirt, in another jar on top of dung, in another jar something else.
Would this at all work?
Please i want to know only how to grow from magic mushrooms (psilocybe cubensis).
And please don’t tell me drugs are bad, as i am not going to ingest them its illegal. I am doing this for the sake of research.

Actually, in more juristictions it is quite legal to own magic mushrooms so long as they are fresh and not dried. Where do you live anyway? So, if you just have the fresh mushrooms, you are safe. Also, of all the hallucinogens, psylocibin is one of the least dangerous…. just never buy it off the street because you never know WHAT is in it and it is very seldom sold in a pure, unadulterated form. Also, never do any of this stuff alone: make sure you have someone you trust with you, and make sure they remain in a “natural” state… just in case!!
You need to get the spores in order to grow mushrooms; you can’t just plant mushroom caps. Find some growing wild, and when they grow old and start to shrivel up, harvest the spores by tapping the mushroom caps on a piece of paper. Ive researched a Fair bit into growing with spores and what not, but i want to know if its possible to just grow some from some.
Let’s say i got a few of them, got the heads and placed them in a jar on top of dirt, in another jar on top of dung, in another jar something else.
Would this at all work?
Please i want to know only how to grow from magic mushrooms (psilocybe cubensis).
And please don’t tell me drugs are bad, as i am not going to ingest them its illegal. I am doing this for the sake of research.

Actually, in more juristictions it is quite legal to own magic mushrooms so long as they are fresh and not dried. Where do you live anyway? So, if you just have the fresh mushrooms, you are safe. Also, of all the hallucinogens, psylocibin is one of the least dangerous…. just never buy it off the street because you never know WHAT is in it and it is very seldom sold in a pure, unadulterated form. Also, never do any of this stuff alone: make sure you have someone you trust with you, and make sure they remain in a “natural” state… just in case!!
You need to get the spores in order to grow mushrooms; you can’t just plant mushroom caps. Find some growing wild, and when they grow old and start to shrivel up, harvest the spores by tapping the mushroom caps on a piece of paper. Then just sprinkle the spores over your dirt and dung mixture, keep things moist but not wet, and you should be growing the magic guys in no time!!

I want to transplant a Chinese Maple about 2 to 3 feet tall to a pot so I can begin training it for bonsai. What size pot should I put it in and what type of soil?

For a tree that size, no more than a 2 gallon pot should be necessary to transport it. Just plant it in normal top soil mixed with a little potting medium. I just did this with about a 4 footer that I then chopped to about 2 1/2. I trimmed the tap roots and put it into a 10 inch clay azalea pot where it seems to be doing just fine. I’ll move it to a bonsai pot next year.

I was hanging with a friend of a friend over the weekend and we were listening to the Grateful Dead (I think) in the car. I swear I heard them playing the theme from Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind. Anyone know what show this is???
