Mushrooms can do amazing things. They can give you the insight to see yourself and your life from another prospective. I have anxiety and they do mellow me out. The key is to use it as a learning experience and not just to get high. The problem with them as with any psychedelic is your trip can go both ways. It is very important you are in a good state of mind. You should only do them on a good day. Also start with a small amount like one or two small caps to see what happens. Base your next dose on that experience. Perhaps the most important thing however is your environment. It is a must that your in a place that your comfortable and around someone you trust. Your best bet is to do them with someone that has experience with them and have food and drinks ready so you don’t have to think about it later. I still feel bad for this pizza delivery guy this one time. Also remember if things go south that its only a drug and drugs ware off. Beer helps me come down but its not the case for everyone. Some people get worse. If you have a short temper or have a tendency to do stupid stuff when your drunk or stoned then i wouldn’t recommend you dry them. I have seen that go very bad.

Of course, it could have a purpose, but from what I’ve read it seems that any type of purpose is unknown to exist. As for proving the existence of God… well, it would certainly seem that way from the way you feel when you take them, wouldn’t it?
